Abstract
Background: Trichomoniasis is the most common nonviral sexually transmitted human disease that is caused by protozoan Trichomonas vaginalis. Metronidazole is the selective drug in trichomoniasis treatment. However, the reported cases show an increasing trend of drug resistance. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of mango and blueberry extracts on T. vaginalis.
Materials and Methods: T. vaginalis was cultured axenically in TYM (Trypticase Yeast Extract) medium supplemented with 10% bovine serum. The effect of mango and blueberry extracts at 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1000 μg.mL-1 on T. vaginalis was studied after 24 and 48 hours. The final numbers of parasite with a hemocytometer and Trypan blue were recorded. Then the value of IC50 [Half maximal inhibitory concentration] and the lethal percent were calculated. In the present study, the metronidazole was used as positive control. The IC50 value of metronidazole and tinidazole were calculated in the concentrations of 0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 0.16 and 0.32 μg.mL-1.
Results: The final results confirmed the significant effect of all mango and blueberry extracts concentrations on the reduction of parasite numbers (P-value<0.05(. The extract concentrations of 1000 μg.mL-1 had the most significant effect on T. vaginalis growth inhibition after 24 hours. The IC50 values of mango and blueberry extracts, metronidazole, and tinidazole were calculated as 118.3, 60.74, 0.042 and 0.02 μg.ml-1 respectively.
Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, the different concentrations of mango and blueberry extracts have significant anti Trichomonas vaginalis activities. It is suggested carrying out further studies on suitable animal models.

Abstract
Aims: The retinal pigment epithelium cells (RPE) have crucial roles in the health and functionality of retina. Any damage or dysfunction of these cells can lead to severe retinopathies. Identification of signaling pathways and biological processes involved in RPE differentiation can be useful in devising more robust therapeutic approaches.
Materials and Methods: In the present study, we used the intersection of three online prediction databases and their ::union:: with one experimental database to select microRNAs gene targets. Next, by the intersect of the targeted genes with an increase in their expression in epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) of RPE cells, we tried to build a microRNA-mRNA integrative network. Further, several pathway analyses tools were used to perform a more accurate and comprehensive analysis of the signaling pathways and biological processes being regulated by selected miRs in the EMT of the RPE cells.
Findings: Our study revealed that among the 3406 genes being upregulated over the course of EMT in RPE cells, adj p-value≤0.05, fold change≥1.5, 93 genes were miR-204-5p and miR 211-5p target genes. Further analysis of the obtained target gene list demonstrated that these two microRNAs are mostly involved in maintaining RPE cells from going through EMT via regulation of cell adhesion and secretion subnetworks and also MAPK and TGF-β1 signaling pathways while preserving cells from apoptosis and neuronal fates.
Conclusion: This study indicated that miR-204-5p and miR 211-5p are involved in protecting RPE cells from EMT and reinforce their epithelial cell identity.

Abstract
The SPTBN4 gene, a part of the spectrin protein family, plays important roles in various cellular processes, including cell cycle, nerve cell development, and so on. Recently, a new miRNA has been found in this SPTBN4 gene, which was registered at the NCBI database. The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression of this miRNA, called SPTBN4-miR1, in the process of differentiation of human embryonal carcinoma cell line NT2 and also the overexpression effect of this miRNA on the differentiation of these cells. RT-qPCR results indicate that SPTBN4-miR1-5p and SPTBN4-miR1-3p show a significant increase in expression in the process of neural differentiation from day three until the 8th and 14th day of differentiation. Then, after overexpressing the SPTBN4-miR1 precursor in NT2 cells and retinoic acid treatment, the expression of pluripotent and differentiation revealed the role of SPTBN4-miR1-5p and SPTBN4-miR1-3p in promoting differentiation and exclusion from the pluripotent state. It seems that by making further studies and finding out the possible targets of these miRNAs, a distinctive marker can be achieved and used to improve the differentiation process.

Abstract
Spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) are unique with an important role in the transmission of genetic information to the next generation. Thus, they play an important role for the production of interspecies germ line chimeras. Therefore, the objective of this study was to produce chimera through the intraperitoneal transplantation of Caspian brown trout SSCs into newly-hatched rainbow trout. Spermatogonial cell were isolated from the testes of 8-month-old Caspian brown trout through enzymatic digestion. The spermatogonial cell suspension was enriched using differential plating technique to remove testicular somatic cells. After culturing for 48 h in L15 supplemented with 10% serum, suspended cells were collected and stained with the fluorescent membrane dye PKH26. The stained cells were intraperitoneally transplanted into triploid rainbow trout hatchlings. At 15 and 30 days after transplantation, the recipients were investigated under a fluorescent microscope. The gonads of recipients were dissected for molecular analysis at 180 days after transplantation. Transplanted spermatogonial cells migrated toward and incorporated into recipient genital ridges. The presence of the Caspian brown trout genetic material was confirmed by PCR in 41.4% of the rainbow trout testes. These results demonstrated for the first time that the interspecies spermatogonial transplantation was successful in rainbow trout and that the somatic microenvironment of the rainbow trout gonad can support the colonization and survival of intraperitoneally transplanted cells derived from a fish species belonging to a different genus. Therefore, the SSCs transplantation can be used as a tool for conservation of Caspian brown trout genetic resources.

Abstract
Abstract - Vickers test method and many equations presented by researchers are used for determining the fracture toughness of brittle materials.These equations are generally based on the relationship between the crack lengths around the indentation zone of Vickers test and the fracture toughness in the specimen. There is only one equation including a semi-empirical coefficient based on the indentation surface and the fracture toughness of the specimen. In this paper, improvement the accuracy of semi-empirical coefficient in this equation is studied for determining the fracture toughness of specimens without additives and containing 5 wt% phenolic resin experimentally. Increasing the accuracy of semi- empirical coefficient leads the increasing the extent of application and accuracy of the results of fracture toughness obtained from the equation. The accuracy of fracture toughness equation coefficients semi- empirical coefficient from 0.003693 to 0.003655 arrived. This equation has minimal cost of experiments for determining fracture toughness of different brittle materials.

Abstract
In this article the effect of hot rolling process on properties and microstructure of Al-B4C composite is investigated. To produce the composite samples, 3 vol.% B4C particles with 300 nm average grain size added to melted Al-356 alloy. Rolling process was done at 350 °C on vortex samples that is made after 15 minutes mixing at 850 °C. Porosimetry, hardness and tensile strength tests were carried out to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of composite samples. Microstructures of the samples were also investigated by using scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate lowering the amount of porosity, increasing hardness and increasing tensile strength of rolling composites. The amount of porosity before rolling process was 2.05% that is decreased to 0.35% after rolling process. Tensile strength and hardness of composites before and after rolling process achieved 178 MPa and 293 MPa and 62 HBN and 101 HBN respectively. Also hot rolling process caused to more ductile fracture of composites that is produced by vortex. Abstract
Deforestation has been one of the most detrimental consequences of the prevalence of European anthropocentrism in North America. European settlers who immigrated to North America found themselves in a bountiful paradise with infinite untrammeled natural resources that could be utilized to make a fortune. Likewise, they inflicted irremediable damages on nature upon the onset of their settlement in this continent. Investigating Louis Owens’ Wolfsong from an ecocritical standpoint, this article seeks to highlight the massive deforestation conducted by the white Americans in the Northwest of the United States of America. As a qualitative, research-based study, this article commences with the theoretical framework and subsequently focuses on the representations of the critical concepts in Wolfsong. It shall be indicated that the perspective held by the White Americans towards nature drastically collides with that of the indigenes. More exactly, the argument of this research follows the distinction between the treatment of nature by the Euro-Americans and Native Americans in Wolfsong.
