Abstract

One of the miniaturization of heat transfer equipment is enhancing the convective heat transfer coefficient. The main aim of this study is design and producing a kind of nanofluid based on water and ethylene glycol. Graphene was synthesized via electrochemical method and its successful production was confirmed with XRD, FTIR spectrum and, SEM and TEM images. By using different amount of graphene i.e. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25, and 1.5%, water/ethylene glycol/graphene nanofluid was produced. Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was used as surfactant to improve graphene stability in the base fluid. The designed experimental setup was composed of spiral tube with constant wall temperature and equipped with flow meter and pressure and temperature indicators. Nusselt number and pressure drop were measured for pure water and compared with those obtained from theoretical relations and it was found that the setup works properly. Convective heat transfer coefficient, Nusselt number, and heat transfer rate were investigated for water/ethylene glycol (60/40 wt.%) and nanofluid with different amount of graphene using experimental setup. The results showed that by adding 1 wt.% graphene into the based fluid the convective heat transfer coefficient increased about 50% while pressure drop was also increased about 50%. Overall, the findings of this research work support the potential of water/ethylene glycol/graphene nanofluid for using in heating/cooling equipment.

Abstract

This analytical-descriptive study aimed to investigate the essence of "grief of nostalgy " as one of the most important mystical sources in the poems of Ibn Farez and Hafez; two great representatives of the mystical poetry of Persian and Arabic literature. More specifically, attempts were made to see how this grief  entered their works and how they reacted to it. The findings suggest that in their mystical thoughts, the separation of the soul from the body and the fall of man from paradise into this world are manifestation of  his grief. In turn, the mystic reaction of the poet to escape from soul nostalgy in the body is the thought of death and fatalism and to turn to earthly love, as commonly thought of, as representation of love of true beloved. The earthly love in the poetry of the two poets is a translation of divine love and a reflection of the first day vow, to which the mystics resorted to fantasize the divine love and to diminish the pain of longings for the true beloved.  Sleeping, dreaming, and seclusion are other structures  to this nostalgy

Abstract

Language as a fact and social behavior is always invariant with social, cultural and traditional values. Vocabulary has an ideological identity card, and by digging the archeology of the vocabulary one can achieve inequality in the position and social roles of men and women, because they create, promote And reinforcing sexual ideologies through the same language and through discourse. In this research, the author of this study, with the approach of the sociology of language and with the descriptive-analytical method, wants to specify the cultural and social position of contemporary Arab and Pars women, based on the poems of Kuwaiti poet Sa'ad al-Sabah and Iranian poet Simin Behbahani. Achievement of the research shows that in choosing linguistic structures and patterns, Suad Al-Sabah and Simin Behbahani's follow specific linguistic patterns of their gender. Because women have been deprived of access to power in the community and have been deprived of their proper social base; their frequency of using emphasizing sentences in their poems is highlighted, so that their speeches may be considered. Using speaker's pronoun, those two poets aim to disturb the balance of power and prove the presence of women more actively in the cultural and social areas. These two contemporary Persian and Arab poets, with the help of mental metaphors, and metaphorical schemas, bring forth or create certain meanings. Suad Al-Sabah has cited Cygnus as a metaphor from a contemporary Arab woman to say that the contemporary woman has lost her freedom and her country has become a prison for her. Simin Behbahani's using the metamorphic "Gypsy" for contemporary Iranian woman, expresses hatred of allegiance, weakness, oppression, homage and submission, and demands human rights, liberty, pure and mutual love.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to design an industrial goods export ecosystem for SMEs, so that they can play a full role in the country's economic growth. Based on research literature, 15 actors influencing the export performance of industrial firms were identified and their relationship was analyzed by eleven experts from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, who were selected by judgmental sampling. Interviews have been analyzed through a causal cognitive mapping method and by Ucinet and Netdraw software. The actors influencing the export performance of the private sector in SMEs were classified into four clusters: Knowledge Hegemony, Culture of Product, Market Diplomacy, and human Structure of the Firm. The first three clusters have a strong and mutually interactive interaction, and the cluster of Human Structure of the Firm is also effective as an infrastructure element on Knowledge Hegemony and Cultures of Product. Enterprises should focus on all four of these clusters to achieve high export performance and design and implement unique strategies for each of them. Failure to pay attention to each of these four clusters will reduce the export performance of companies. Market Diplomacy, and Culture of Product are innovative concepts that companies need to learn in these areas for high export performance.

Abstract

Ibuprofen, 4-isobutyl-propionic acid, is an important well-known member of NSAIDs which is widely utilized in inflammatory therapy like treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and various degrees of analgesic. Despite the high medical activity and low toxicity of ibuprofen, it is supplied as a racemic mixture. In this research enantioselective resolution of (R, S)-ibuprofen by immobilized preparations of Rhizomucor miehei lipase (RML) on silica and silica nanoparticles was investigated. For this, chemical modification of silica and silica mesoporous nanoparticles was performed by the simultaneous use of two coupling linkers; Octyltriethoxysilane (OTES) for hydrophobic interaction and glycidoxypropyltrimethoxylsilane (GPTMS) for covalent linkage of RML. The results showed that immobilization of RML on octyl-functionalized supports produces specific activity almost 1.5-2 folds greater than the specific activity of the free enzyme. The observed hyper-activation decreased with increasing epoxy groups on the supports confirming the enhancement of covalent nature of the attachment. Regarding the specific activity of the immobilized preparations and desorption percentages of RML from each support, the most suitable carrier obtained from the functionalization of the supports in the presence of GPTMS and OTES in the ratio of 1:1. The selected biocatalysts were then used for enantioselective resolution of (R, S)-ibuprofen by esterification reaction at different conditions. The results revealed that the most suitable biocatalysts are those prepared by immobilization of RML on SBA-15 and silica modified with GPTMS and OTES in the ratio of 1:1 which produced high E values at ambient temperature.

Abstract

Surge is one of the two destructive factors in compressors. surge is the stream instability phenomenon in compressor that imposes severe damages to the compressors. Nowadays, suppressingsurge phenomenon is one of the most important issues in oil and gas industries, especially when flow reduction or gas reflux is considered. According to Moore-Greitzer compressor model, this paper designs an active controller for surge control in constant speed centrifugal compressors. As such, the applied operator considered for surge control is Close Couple Valve (CCV) and it is designed to stabilize a centrifugal compressor system with disturbaces using nonlinear predictive controller. The proposed controller, without any information about the amount of Throttle Valve variations, could control the surge instability and reduce the distance between compressor operation point and the surge line. Finally, the compressor system with controller is simulated and the obtained results will show the efficiency of the designed nonlinear predictive controller

Abstract

Banks play substantial role in the national economy and its growth and prosperity. In this regard, recent researches have focused on performance evaluation of banks using “data envelopment analysis” (DEA). However, most of these studies has paid less attention to the selection of input and output variables. Obviously, the change in the variables set makes the efficiency scores and assessments of the decision-making units very different. Hence, in this paper, a logistic regression model is used in order to select the input and output variables. Applying this method indicates that the main variables of model are main source of financing as "input variable" and the bank facilities, resource absorption rate and number of bills as "output variables". These are of the greatest impact on forecasting of units efficiency (inefficiency). Then, we dealt with this set of variables to determine technical, allocative, and overall efficiency of 15 branches of Sepah Bank in Tehran during 2011. The results show that only 27 percent of units are 100% efficient, 20% of the units are 100% inefficient, 20% of units are allocatively inefficient and 34% of them are technically inefficient.

Abstract

In this research, the effects of partially austenitising time on the machinability of spheroidal graphite (SG) cast iron with ferrite-martensite dual matrix structure (DMS) were investigated to optimize its machinability. Specimens with non-alloy ferrite matrix structure were prepared by the casting process. Then the specimens were austenitized at temperatures of 900 oC at various times (5 to 25 min) and subsequently quenched into the water to produce DMS with martensite volume fractions. The Brinell hardness test method was used to determine the hardness of specimens. The machinability of the workpieces with ferrite and dual structures were investigated by measuring the surface roughness and primary cutting force. According to the results, the Johnson-Avram kinetic model was valid for correlation between the martensite volume fraction and autenitising time. The surface roughness was increased and the cutting force was decreased with increasing austentising time to 12 min, and consequently, with increase the hardness to 168 BHN. The heating at 900 oC for 12 min resulted in 16-20% and 15-23% improvement on the cutting force and specific cutting power, respectively, when compared to as-cast specimen, while the surface quality remained at the same level. The cutting force was correlated with feed rate as a power model with exponents of 0.77 and 0.73 for DMS (with 30% martensite) and ferritic as-cast samples, respectively.

Abstract

Artemisia annua L. is an important medicinal plant used as an original source of artemisinin for treating malaria. Although there is a wide distribution of A. annua in Hyrcanian Areas (Mazandaran, Guilan, and Golestan Provinces in N Iran), no considerable effort has been made for diversity assessment. In this study, morphological, phytochemical, and molecular characterization of A. annua accessions in this area were assessed using 4 quantitative characteristics (height, fresh weight, dry weight, and trichome density), artemisinin content, and 15 ISSR primers. Using these traits, a high level of morphological, phytochemical and molecular diversity was revealed among A. annua accessions in the provinces (populations) of Hyrcanian Areas. At inter-population level, the highest value of artemisinin was observed in Mazandaran Province. Moreover, significant correlation between artemisinin content and trichome density was observed that could be useful for indirect selection of artemisinin yield in different accessions of A. annua. In addition, fifteen ISSR primers generated a total number of 222 amplified bands, consisting of 177 and 45 polymorphic and monomorphic loci across the 60 accessions, respectively. These results indicate that ISSR-PCR is a reliable tool for fingerprinting A. annua at the intra-population level. Our results altogether are valid contributions for gene bank management and Artemisia annua breeding programs.
